The Fair Work Commission has recently announced that the national minimum wage will increase by 3.0% to $19.49 per hour. This change came into operation on 1 July 2019.
The increase in the national minimum wage means that minimum wages contained in modern awards will also be increased effective 1 July 2019. At the time of writing, the ‘high-income threshold’ (currently $145,500) has not yet increased, however it is expected to increase as it does annually.
